We received a Ralph E. Powe Junior Faculty Enhancement Award from Oak Ridge Associated Universities (ORAU) that will allow us to study metabolic rates and transcriptomes in poeciliids inhabiting sulfide springs. Among other things, this grant will provide research opportunities for undergraduate students interested in the interplay between physiology, ecology and evolution.
