Courtney Passow receives fellowship for bioinformatics training

Courtney Passow received a scholarship that allows her to attend Oklahoma State University’s Summer Workshop in Bioinformatics: Disentangling Entangled Genomes. The workshop, which will be held in August 2012, is designed to provide a general and basic introduction to the discipline of bioinformatics, while exposing students and faculty to opportunities and challenges of incorporating next generation sequencing approaches and bioinformatics in ongoing research projects. The bioinformatics workshop will use problem-solving exercises and hands-on techniques to bridge disciplines and targets students and faculty with limited backgrounds in some or all aspects of bioinformatics.
