Sophia Steffensmeier, a senior at Manhattan High School, presented her work at the 5th Annual Manhattan High School University Level Research Mentorship Symposium on April 18. Since summer 2022, Sophia has worked with her mentor, Madison Nobrega, to investigate how sulfide-releasing pharmaceutical compounds impact fish from sulfidic and non-sulfidic environments.
