Several lab members have received awards and fellowships this spring semester. Our freshman research scholar, Ryan Greenway, was awarded a Wentz Research Scholarship from Oklahoma State University. The scholarship will allow Ryan to pursue research projects in our lab for the year to come. Currently, Ryan is focusing on quantifying metabolic rates in P. mexicana ecotypes under different environmental conditions.
Graduate students Courtney Passow and Reid Morehouse both were recognized at the annual zoology banquet at OSU. Courtney received a Dr. S. L. “Bud” Burkes Award to pursue her work on the genomic basis of adaptation in sulfide spring fish. Reid received an Oustanding Ph.D. Student Award by the Zoology Graduate Student Society. Finally, Michi received a Young Investigator Award by Sigma Xi.
