GEO magazine – the European equivalent to National Geographic – published a 16-page feature article about our research on extremophile fishes in its September 2014 issue. This was made possible by a three-man team that accompanied us on our expedition to Southern Mexico last May. We thank Philipp Kohlhoefer, who wrote the story, and especially Robbie Shone and his assistant Matt Oliphant who photographed the habitats and organisms we study, making them appear in a light we have never seen them before.
GEO has over 500,000 subscribers in German speaking countries alone. The article will subsequently appear in fifteen language editions, including releases in Hungary, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Croatia, Bulgaria, India, Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania, Finland, Spain, Italy, Turkey, Mongolia, and Russia.
