In collaboration with Jared Bixby and Nicole Wade from Sunset Zoo, our lab received a Engagement Incentive Grant from the Center for Engagement and Community Development at Kansas State University. The grant supports our efforts in developing capacities in science communication and community engagement. The funds allow us to organize science communication workshops for both established scientists and aspiring scientists. In addition, they will ensure the sustainability of established engagement opportunities (Science on Tap, which is held on a monthly basis at the Tap House in Manhattan, KS) and facilitate new connections between K-State scientists and K-12 classrooms in the greater Manhattan area.
