Kyliyah presents her research at the Missouri State Capitol

Kyliyah Walker, an undergraduate researcher in our lab, was recently featured in UMSL Daily for presenting her work at the UM System’s Undergraduate Research Day at the Missouri State Capitol. Her project explores how diet affects hydrogen sulfide tolerance in Poecilia mexicana, a fish species adapted to extreme environments. During the event, Kyliyah had the chance to share her research with legislators and connect with other student researchers from across the state—including a meeting with her district senator.
