Celebrating student success

Several students from our research group were recognized this semester for their accomplishments in research, science communication, and conservation.

At the UMSL Graduate Research Fair, Erik received the award for Best Presentation, while Soren placed second. Casey won UMSL’s Three-Minute Thesis Competition and was subsequently invited to present her research at the Midwestern Association of Graduate Schools Conference in Kansas City.

At the Undergraduate Research Symposium, Karch and Allison were recognized for their presentation and contributions to undergraduate research.

Students were also honored at the UMSL Biology Awards ceremony. Casey received the Arnold B. Grobman Award, Zoe Ellis received the Muriel E. Babcock Award, and John received the Benny Higashiguchi Award in recognition of their accomplishments in research and conservation.

Congratulations to all of these students on a successful semester and well-deserved recognition of their work.
